Cute Swim Cover-Ups From Your Closet

Filed under Fashion Look Your Best on Jul 23 12 by

Summer is here! That means it’s time for the beach and pool parties—and time to pull out the often-dreaded swimsuits. I am here to help! I pulled four items from my closet and repurposed them as cover-ups.

The Cropped Top

This very sheer white cropped top gives me the extra coverage Im looking for and adds to the 60’s style flair of my swimsuit. My shoulders are always the first thing that gets too much color. Those cap sleeves are perfect to help keep the sun away.

The Chambray Top

You may already know my love for the chambray top. For this look I just tied the ends up to my mid stomach and voila—an instant cover up! You can also wear this unbuttoned and untied for a breezy look.

The Summer Cardigan

You probably don’t think cardigans would be the best way to cover up your swimsuit. This version of a cardigan is just right. It’s a light color, oversized, and even has a beach feel to it.

The Button Down Shirt

I picked up this top at my local thrift store. Im almost positive it’s straight out of the 90’s. I thought the stripes of the top and polka dots of the bikini were a perfect pattern mix. With this top, you could just throw on jean shorts and be ready for lunch on the boardwalk!

Now it’s your turn to think outside the box! Start pulling out pieces from your closet and see how you can use the item as a cover up.
