Take Your Clothes from Summer to Fall

If you are fashionista on a budget, you probably are wondering how you are going to stretch your summer closet into fall without spending a lot of money. I like to purchase pieces that can be worn in at least three of the four seasons. With enough layers and accessories, you can take your favorite summer dress or skirt into the fall season!

Look #1: Cool and Casual

Take this simple striped dress, add a jean jacket (mine is thrifted for $4!) and a contrasting scarf, and you have a great early-fall outfit! Once it gets a little cooler, add black leggings and boots and you are ready to go!

Look #2: All Business

Looking for a dressier look? Try using two solid colors with a neutral for a great business-casual outfit. I paired a purple cotton dress with a navy blue blazer and added the nude pump. Nude pumps are great because they make your legs look miles long!

Look #3: Cute and Comfy

Have a basic denim dress or skirt? Layer that great staple with a fun sweater. I added the blue scarf (to go along with the denim theme) and a fun animal print shoe. If you are still on the fence about animal print, try it in a shoe first! I wear these shoes at least four times a week!

The key to wearing clothes in multiple seasons is to use layers and to have fun with your outfits! The next time you purchase an item, think about how many seasons you can make that piece work.

How about you?
