Quick & Healthy Snack: Pita Chips
Filed under Appetizers and Dips Live Well Recipes on Oct 17 12 by Lauren D'AlessandroPita chips are a great choice for enjoying your favorite dip. With this quick recipe, you can easily customize the spices to suite your tastebuds. I used garlic salt and chili powder, but Old Bay, basil, and oregano are also great choices.
You will need:
- Pita bread
- Olive oil cooking spray (or olive oil and a culinary brush)
- Salt
- Pepper
- Garlic Salt
- Chili powder
Directions:
- Preheat oven or toaster oven to 425°F.
- Cut pita bread into triangular wedges. Spray with olive oil (or use a culinary brush if your getting it from the bottle) on both sides.
- Lay on baking sheet and sprinkle salt, pepper, garlic salt, and chili powder to taste.
- Bake until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes. You’ll want to keep an eye on these to avoid overcooking—I wouldn’t recommend walking out of the room while you are baking these!
- Enjoy with your favorite dip (I ate mine with roasted red pepper hummus).
