Quick & Healthy Snack: Pita Chips

Pita ChipsPita chips are a great choice for enjoying your favorite dip. With this quick recipe, you can easily customize the spices to suite your tastebuds. I used garlic salt and chili powder, but Old Bay, basil, and oregano are also great choices.

You will need:

  • Pita bread
  • Olive oil cooking spray (or olive oil and a culinary brush)
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Garlic Salt
  • Chili powder

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven or toaster oven to 425°F.
  2. Cut pita bread into triangular wedges. Spray with olive oil (or use a culinary brush if your getting it from the bottle) on both sides.
  3. Lay on baking sheet and sprinkle salt, pepper, garlic salt, and chili powder to taste.
  4. Bake until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes. You’ll want to keep an eye on these to avoid overcooking—I wouldn’t recommend walking out of the room while you are baking these!
  5. Enjoy with your favorite dip (I ate mine with roasted red pepper hummus).
